2025-2026 UFO Challenge is HERE!
As quilters, we all have unfinished projects that we would love to see completed. This is the year!! In order to motivate each other, we have put together a UFO Challenge. This Challenge will run from our October 2025 meeting and culminate at a “UFO Show and Tell” at our May 2026 meeting. We encourage all members to participate.
There will be celebration, there will be prizes!
HOW THIS WORKS?
What Is a UFO?
A “UFO” is defined as a quilt project that was started over a year ago and is not completed.
For the purpose of this challenge, the following UNFINISHED OBJECTS are acceptable:
Quilts – Any size, from crib on up
Quilted Goods like table runners, placemats (sets only,) wall hangings, and mini quilts.
Bags that meet the definition of quilted (top, batting/Soft & Stable, backing).
Any Project from a Guild Workshop.
Kits that are in your possession as of OCTOBER 2025.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE?
Start by checking out all your UFO projects and pick your top 5 that you would like to complete for this challenge. We are limiting the number for our purposes (so we can manage the show and tell in May), but feel free to complete more projects if you get on a roll.
Print out the UFO Challenge Form and fill it out. Remember to keep the bottom half for your records.
Name of Project – can be the name of the pattern or the name you assign it
Start Date – This can be approximate. And don’t be ashamed. There will be a prize dedicated to the oldest UFO.
Status: is it a Work in Progress (WIP) or Kit
Was it a Guild Workshop/Class project?
Hand in your Worksheet to the UFO Coordinator (Fay Vanden Beukel) by December 18th, 2025
